There is nothing more that I love than learning and growing via imagination. Our littlest ones are just meant to explore, imagine and let their minds dream upon anything they can think of. One of my favorite books that inspires this concept is, Harold and the Purple Crayon' by Crockett Johnson. Harold has so many adventures in this book that include a sailing ship, hungry moose, picnic with 9 kinds of pies (yum) and much, much more!
I have a lot of fun movement imagination activities planned to get the kiddos moving and exploring the different aspects of this book. We will be going on a boat trip, picnic, hot air balloon, visit to the city, and even see some animals along the way. The kiddos will have a blast!
We will also have some fun a learning with our Shape Recognition and Trace Worksheet. I am sure you can guess what color the kiddos will be using this week? Click on the following for at-home practice.
We will pull some math into our learning by graphing out our favorite adventure that Harold went on. I will also work with some comprehension sequencing. Finally, we be creating some fun 'Imagination' Purple Crayon masterpieces. Can't wait!
