On Friday, we read one of my ALL time favorite books in Library called 'How Full Is Your Bucket for Kids? by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer. We read this book at the beginning of the year and have been working on filling our Class Bucket with great choices. We will often use the term 'filling our bucket' with great choices or perhaps 'emptying our bucket' with a not so great choice. We even take it a bit farther by talking about how we can fill up God's Bucket, as well. I love how this provides such a tangible depiction of the consequences from both good and bad choices among our friends.
Since our class has done such an amazing job making great choices and filling up those buckets over the past several weeks, we decided to celebrate with a little class party! We had a super fun time 'filling our bucket' snacks! Each kiddo had their own bucket (ice cream cone) that they were able to fill will all different items(cheerios, mini m&ms, crackers, sprinkles, pretzel sticks, candy corns and much more (I did try to keep the sugar to a minimum)! Not only did the kiddos love to fill up their buckets and then enjoy their treat, they also had some great fun sorting our treats by color, size, shape, numbers and more!!!!
We are so blessed with the most precious class and all of the kiddos play, help and interact with each other in such a truly amazing way!!! There is noting but God's love and grace in our room each and every day!
As a mom, I love to know what my children are discovering during their days and I am sure you do too! Stop by here anytime to see what fun & learning we are up to!
